· Have to get the work in the portfolio seen……VISITS and MAIL (by this I don’t actually mean MAIL…always send by courier or at least by priority if you don’t mind losing it…

VISITS: big trip to NYC…Start more than a month in advance to write or call wish list…start at top with Sr. editor or head AD. (BE PROFESSIONAL) …call to pick appt. times weeks in advance. Get map of city and subway, bus routes … Give yourself plenty of time to get around……appts in same area
FACE TO FACE: **If drop offs…have another portfolio. You are trying to begin a RELATIONSHIP to build on…make impression…………get some feedback…………watch body Language.
